White eyelet and denim

On my last thrifting excursion, I took my own advice and picked up a really cute white eyelet blouse. This one is Liz Claiborne, linen, in my size, and STILL HAD TAGS ON! Score! I like its 1950s vibe, especially with skinny denim clamdiggers. Kind of a retro/modern feel.

The blouse has a great scalloped hem, too.

A couple of little details make me feel modern in this very basic outfit. I cut off the pants just below the knee, which I think is a more flattering length for me, and left them frayed. When they were longer (midcalf), they felt more dowdy somehow. Angie at You Look Fab has several good posts about flattering lengths for cropped pants.

I also rolled the sleeves a little so they’d look more cap sleeve, wore my Simple Shoes vegan gladiator sandals, and put on two necklaces with pink accents (to match my pedicure, natch!).

Can you see they are black eyelet cotton?

This was one of those outfits that is really simple but made me feel pulled together and cute all day long. The power of a simple white blouse! And I didn’t even get it covered in paint/muddy fingerprints/grass stains/puppy slobber or anything!
