I can barely contain myself! I picked up Clinique’s Almost Lipstick at the end of summer (when Dillard’s had one of its “events” where you get a bagful of goodies with a minimum purchase). At that time, it came in only one color, Black Honey. The Clinique rep said the color flatters all skintones and looks like you just ate a bowl of cherries. She was right! I have been wearing it almost every day since. It looks really dark in the tube, but when I put it on, it is a sheer (but buildable), sort of violet/berry that, surprisingly, does not look too goth-y on my pale skin.

And now Clinique has come out with new colors for spring! I am so excited! I’d like a brighter, pinkier shade, since that seems to be the hot new shade for spring.

I think Flirty Honey might be my best bet, but because the colors are so dramatically different in the tube vs. on lips, I might have to haul myself to the Clinique counter to try on shades when I’m ready to buy.

This lipstick feels lightweight, a bit glossy but not overly so, a very natural look and feel with just a hint of color. It does not last very long, but I do not mind reapplying, and I can do so without a mirror because it is so sheer. And though I wear (and reapply) it frequently, I am nowhere near running out even after six months–not bad for such a skinny little tube. I’d say I’m getting my money’s worth.

I’m scoping the website and department store sites for deals. The Clinique counter at Dillard’s really set me up nicely last time with samples and freebies, so I hope to do the same again!
