DIY: Cashmere redux
As I get older and my body becomes more slouchy, I realize that slouchy clothes don’t really work for me anymore. The more shapely and tailored my clothes, the better I look. I still enjoy (and, um, need) a loose and casual aesthetic, so for me, the trick is to alter a few pieces so they just fit better. After all, it is the clothing’s job to fit the body, not the body’s job to fit the clothing!
(pardon the clutter around me. it’s a never-ending struggle.)

Scarf tricks

Big online boot sale!
Wow! Peltz Shoes, a legitimate online store that I have ordered from successfully, is having a big boot blowout: up to 70% off. I was impressed by their selection and am a little bit in love with these Bare Traps Janissa ankle booties, marked down to $21.
A swing and a miss
“I do not need another winter coat,” I told myself as I took it into the dressing room and tried it on. The other day, I popped into my local Junior League thrift store (“Bloomin’ Deals”) to see whether they had a cute orange top for me. Instead, I found this gorgeous coat.
Happy Mardi Gras!
For Mardi Gras day, I’m planning to “mask”–wear a costume–so here is what I wore for Lundi Gras, the day before Mardi Gras. I went with a purple, green, and gold color scheme because those are the colors associated with Fat Tuesday. I don’t normally wear brights together, but the holiday gives me an excuse to try color blocking!
